I was looking for a restaurant to take Girlfriend for our one year anniversary. I looked at several restaurants in the slidell area but settled on Nathan's. Every aspect of the experience was top notch. We had Nathan as our server and he did a phenomenal job as he was very attentive and made the experience perfect. The food was amazing! We got the crab au gratin for starters and it was loaded with lump crab meat and tasted amazing. Our entrees were simply amazing as well! Coming from some one who has over 20 years experience in the service industry, i can confidently say, Dont sleep on this gem of a dining experience.

This restaurant was recommended to us by one of the waitresses, Chrisi. Although she wasn't there at lunchtime, I'm so glad she recommended it; otherwise, I wouldn't have noticed it. Lunch was superb! The lasagne was the best I've ever had, and I am an Italian-American who is used to homemade pastas. The salad that came with it was exceptional. I recommend the House Salad with balsamic vinegar. My husband had a club sandwich that came with lots of fries. He could only eat half it was so huge! But that's ok; lunch tomorrow! The ambiance was perfect. I love to look at boats on the water while I'm dining; it's soothing. Our waitress was exactly what anyone would want...friendly, patient, attentive, & efficient. She deserves A+
Update! 6/25 Years in. I don't even want to spill the beans here. Best steak in Louisiana? Yes. The filet au gratin is sinful. Posting pictures. Best restaurant in St Tammany Parish by far. Shhhhh. Don't tell everyone! Good happy hour! The bar is small but great. We did Valentines dinner once too. Very good food! Their lunch menu is really awesome. The lasagna was so very yummy. They have a few good choices for draft beer too. Crab meat au gratin is a fabulous! Update.... Still totally amazing. The ribeye might be in the top three of all time ever (7/19/24) and my pecan snapper was sweet deliciousness! Update! 10/24/24 Filet au Gratin fantastic!
We just ate lunch in the bar at Nathan’s. It was our first visit, and we weren’t disappointed. The burger was just fabulous. I loved the Caesar salad. It was exceptionally fresh tasting. Cocktails were good-sized, perfectly made, and reasonably priced. The crème brûlée was the best ever. Service and atmosphere were perfect. Thank you!
This is one of our favorite date night places to eat, I mean seriously, almost every time and the food hits EVERY time. Also, I do not take food lightly, and just love the flavor in every bite! I always compare and will usually find me saying "Nathan's is better". Facts!
My first visit was on a Tuesday a little before 1pm. I walked in and saw it was busy and there seemed to be only 2 waiters. One of the waiters said "be with you in just a minute" . I stood there for quite awhile before I was seated in the bar area, where it was quieter. The menu is amazing!! I had a hard time deciding what to order. I waited at least 20 minutes before my order was taken. The food came fairly quickly once I ordered and was delicious! I ordered dessert which took awhile to arrive and it was very yummy. It seemed to take long time to get the check, once it came I paid ,including a 20% tip, and left. It's a good thing I wasn't in a hurry and needed to be somewhere. It's a very nice place and I will be back. There should have been more than just 2 waiters. So if you're not in a hurry and have the time, Nathan's is a good place to eat.
Had a great evening out for dinner at Nathan’s. It was my first time dining at this restaurant and I will definitely be returning! Our waiter was attentive and polite. We enjoyed being able to take our time and enjoy a couple of drinks and appetizers before ordering entrees. I highly recommend the Trout Christopher. It was delicious!
Pork medallion lunch special was awesome, scallop appetizer was awesome (little pricey but worth it), seafood eggplant pasta was really good, the crab meat stuffing was a little pasty(not a fan of that) but did have decent flavor. The eggplant and the pasta sauce were very good. Awesome place, great view, love the decor, absolutely will return. One of the best places in and around slidell.....PERIOD!!! I've tried them all and I'm hard to please. Not 5 star because no one is perfect
